ExoAVT

A native Android visual splicer for turning imported footage and embedded or attached audio into deterministic, audio-reactive effects and exported MP4 variations.

Beta 0.3.0-beta.16 presents the operon splicer as one full-safe-viewport machine surface with seven draggable effect controls, fixed photographic bezels with live moving pointers, a compact inset video transport, audio-reactive switch, Mutate hardware, illuminated Randomize and Export controls, and further-raised output readouts.

  • Import existing video through Android's system photo picker or Share/Open with ExoAVT.
  • Attach WAV, FLAC, MP3, AAC, or other provider-supported audio through the system document picker.
  • Work through one safe-area-aware machine that fills the available phone viewport without the old 9:16 height cap, side gutters, or a nested main-screen scroll.
  • See the complete seven-control hardware plus Randomize, audio-reactive, Mutate, and Export in the empty state; controls that require footage stay visibly disabled while Import video remains available.
  • Analyze embedded or attached audio locally into a timestamped RMS/peak timeline, with the machine's signal light driven by the same analysis used by the effects.
  • Compare Source and Processed playback across 15 stateless effects: Posterize, RGB Split, Scanlines, Pixelate, ASCII, Exposure, Contrast, Black Crush, Saturation, Threshold, Ordered Dither, Sharpen, Vignette, Mirror, and Wave.
  • Drag any of seven persisted machine macros for Glitch, Smear, ASCII, Filter, Wobble, Fry, and Dither; the photographic bezel stays upright while its centered pointer and raised numeric readout follow the live value, and moving an unlocked control creates or enables its mapped effect before applying the value.
  • Choose from 16 named organisms, including Operon Reactive, ASCII Reactor, Red Hot Burning, Ghost Signal, Necrotic CRT, Memory Wound, Mirror Cell, and Wave Machine.
  • Use seeded Randomize to choose and reroll a different non-clean organism, then use Mutate to vary the current organism while preserving its topology and effect locks.
  • Turn Apply audio-reactive effects to YES to enable descriptor-owned RMS/Peak routes for every effect-bearing organism, or leave it at NO for a static recipe.
  • Inspect human-readable recipe values and set one shared global intensity from 0–200% in Settings; 100% preserves the authored look and higher values use bounded effect-specific overdrive.
  • Normalize supported HDR input to a protected SDR working surface on Android 10 or newer before effects and export.
  • Export the processed result as an H.264/AAC MP4 through Android's save picker, with progress, cancellation, and embedded, imported, mixed, or muted audio policies.
  • Save versioned projects and patches in app-private storage, then explicitly resume the last session or start fresh on launch.
  • Keep video inside the photographic monitor bezel, with native Compose Settings and default-off Technical Details secondary to the creative flow while preserving diagnostic access for beta testing.

Install

Android beta installation

  1. Open this page on an Android 8.0 or newer phone or tablet.
  2. Download the APK and allow installs from your browser or file manager if Android asks.
  3. Install ExoAVT, open Effects, then choose Import video or share/open a video with the app.
  4. Use SRC and FX inside the compact monitor to compare the clean and processed loop.
  5. Drag any physical effect knob for a direct macro change—even when that mapped effect starts OFF—press the illuminated Randomize control to choose a different organism, or press Mutate directly beneath it to vary the current one.
  6. Turn Apply audio-reactive effects to YES, confirm the machine's audio signal light responds when analysis is ready, and adjust Global intensity to taste.
  7. Optionally attach separate mastered audio; after analysis it becomes the reactive and export source while its preview remains deliberately muted.
  8. Under Output, press the illuminated Export control, select a save location, and keep ExoAVT open until Android reports that the MP4 was saved.
  9. Use Settings only when you need project or technical controls; Live is an honest preview of the planned performance surface and does not record from the camera yet.

Android / experimental sound build v0.1.28

Operon Splicer

Generative melodic synth with four lanes, internal audio, MIDI out, pattern editing, effects, modulation, routing, and presets.

Sound build 0.1.28keeps the working UI and finite WAV export while expanding to 14,800 tested sound recipes across 27 playable engines and 96 FX palettes. Waveguide brass, bowed string, vector morph, and sympathetic comb resonance add four genuinely different sound families. Each lane has a mute toggle, so you can mute three lanes and export the remaining sound as an isolated WAV sample. The first-launch introduction now stays open until BEGIN SELECTION is pressed. Playback still stops when the app is hidden by default; opt-in Background Play now uses Android's media-playback foreground service for stable deliberate sessions. Build 0.1.27 remains available as the unchanged fallback.

  • 96 named FX palettes with tempo-aware delay, ambience, granular, freeze, memory, chorus-orbit, all-pass phaser, modulation, and final limiting.
  • Per-lane mute, volume, stereo pan, and FX send are preserved in phone playback and WAV export.
  • Mute any three lane activity displays to export the remaining lane as an isolated WAV sample.
  • Exports the current internal mix as a 4, 8, 12, 16, 24, or 32-beat stereo WAV.
  • A compact versioned first-launch introduction remains visible until BEGIN SELECTION is pressed.
  • Playback stops when the app is backgrounded by default; opt-in Background Play uses Android's media-playback foreground service for deliberate sessions.
  • Optional USB MIDI output with EP-133 pad-group and clock support.
  • Preset save and load controls.
  • Panic stops internal voices and sends MIDI all-notes-off messages.

USB MIDI test path

  1. Connect Android USB-C to the EP-133 USB-C MIDI port, then open Routing and select the EP-133 output.
  2. Confirm EP-133 mode, Clock Out: On, and pads A-D on channel 1.
  3. Use Test Note first, then press Play. The EP-133 produces sound while Operon sends notes and clock.

EP-133 support is provided for testing and demonstration. It does not imply Teenage Engineering endorsement, partnership, or certification.

ExoAndroidAudioAnalyzer

On-device BPM and dominant-pitch analysis for Android and local model workflows.

The app accepts an audio file, runs the analysis on the phone, and reports structured observations without sending the analysis through a desktop Python service.
